Morocco's economic and cultural capital, this massive port city is one of the most important in all of Africa. Founded in the 10th century BC, today it is a seat of modern architecture, and styles as varied as Art Deco, Neo-Mauresque, and Cubist facades can be seen here. Well worth the visit is the Hassan II Mosque, the largest in North Africa and featuring the world's tallest minaret.
