Named after William Frederick Cody, better known as Buffalo Bill, this Wyoming city features the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. Cody was founded by Buffalo Bill in 1901 as he first noticed the area's potential as he was traveling through it in the 1870s. The city is the self-proclaimed "Rodeo Capital of the World" hosting numerous professional and amateur rodeos. Cody is approximately 52 miles from Yellowstone National Park's East Entrance making it a popular tourist destination.
