The remarkable canyon formed by the Snake River reaches depths of 500 feet and runs for more than five miles in Idaho's Magic Valley. Snake River Canyon was formed more than 14,000 years ago and was impacted by flooding of the prehistoric Lake Bonneville. Daredevil Evel Knievel made a failed attempt in 1974 to jump the canyon in a rocket.
