About St. John's Archcathedral

The magnificent Brick Gothic Catholic archcathedral in Old Town Warsaw is one of the city's oldest churches and one of Poland's national pantheons. St. John's Archcathedral was first built during the 14th century and was a coronation and burial site for Polish royalty. A corridor was constructed during the 16th century to connect it to the Royal Palace. St. John's Archcathedral had to be rebuilt after it was destroyed during the 1944 Warsaw Uprising of World War II.
