See one of Europe’s most alluring walled cities. Tallinn, once under the Soviet thumb, is today a mixture of modern and medieval and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Estonia’s capital city has one of the best preserved medieval towns in northern Europe with striking church spires, red-tiled roofs and labyrinthine cobblestones streets. Not to be missed is Town Hall in Old Town’s main square, the only surviving Gothic town hall in northern Europe.
